Richard,
THanks a lot for that info. I went hunting for a good book on Rollei TLRs. I
have gotten a rollei repair manual. Now looking at the TLR it looks like I
need to remove the leather. Is there a solvent i can use to dissolve the
glue to free the leather or applying Naptha will do the job.

Javaman.

Nope, no elegant method. You peel if off gently beginning at a corner and using a small screwdriver to start it. The cement is a kind of lacquer which forms a very thin layer and is not overly strong. You can help it with Isopropyl alcohol, which is a solvent for lacquer If the leather has been recemented with rubber cement or contact cement it may prove difficult to get off. Never use rubber cement despite the recommendations from some. Most of it has a lot of free sulfur in it which will eventually attack many materials mounted with it.
