It's the prong on the camera body itself. When you flip the waist  
level finder open you can see two adjustment screws.
I can bet you were also getting edge fogging on some of your rolls.  
The newer inserts should take care of that.
I got the info on the inserts from both Bob Salomon and Hadley  
Chamberlain, after I had my own run in with them.
I used an SLX back on a 6006. Even though it was an SLX back I  
couldn't use the old inserts on the 6006 without it binding or  
popping open at the most inconvenient time. Using that combination  
has left me partial to the 6003 for location work.
