That is bunk and you know it to be bunk. Send the man scans of the pictures. This is covered by the "fair use" doctrine applicable in every nation in the world. "Fair Use" includes the sharing of information among researchers, so this is certainly within that exception.
Please, send him scans, or I shall do so -- and I do not want to have to break off my discourse in writing on this, so I shall be royally hacked if I must send them! 

Just do not send them on the Rollei List.  Send them privately.
