Richard, Kodak official website says:
"1935 - KODACHROME Film was introduced and became the
first commercially successful amateur color film. It
was initially offered in 16 mm format for motion
pictures; 35 mm slides and 8 mm home movies followed
in 1936."

Kodachrome was the first integrated tri-pack color
film based on three colored layers; "Agfacolor New"
was introduced on 1936 with a more simplified process
than Kodachrome because the color couplers were
integral with the colored layers, modern color films
use the "Agfacolor new" film chemical principles.
According an F&H document, the first design for the
Rolleikin was approved on December 1932 and
manufactured from July 1933 to 1934 before Kodachrome
and "Agfacolor new" came to the market, the main
purpose for the Rolleikin was the use of 35mm bulk
film for photojournalism and 35mm film different
packing types and then Rollei TLR users could use the
cheaper 35mm if they needed or wished to do it.
The Rolleikin kit was improved on 1939 for a better
work with color films because Kodak required the
original film cartridge to process the Kodachrome.
All the best
Carlos
