[rodgersorgan] Re: rodgersorgan Digest V1 #143

regarding the Rodgers 205, it was in production in the late 1970's and early
1980's. Steve Smith, our President at S.B. Smith & Associates, has owned one
since 1980 and absoulutely loves it. It is analog and Steve has serious
thoughts about 'gutting' the organ and retrofitting a Rodgers Trillium 837 in
its place.

Something good to note is that Steve recently had a very good organ over to
his home recently and the organist sat down and played the 205 after Steve
told him he was thinking of making the organ digital. The organist (who is
very well respected in our local AGO chapter) said 'why would you want to do
that? This sounds absoulutely lovely as it is'

We also recently installed a 205 in a small chapel on the campus of DePaul
University in downtown Chicago (it was donated by an alumni that used to have
it installed in his home). The organ is very much appreciated by all of
those that have the opportunity to play it. The quality of the instrument,
we have found, is very high and we have had very few service problems with
those that are installed in our market area.
