Dear List... I need your help! I have a Rodgers 340 which I have just attached some speakers to finally (Allen HC-12's). As is true with several Rodgers 340's I've played, by themselves their sound is a little on the dry side so..... I bought, and want to connect a Roland SRV-3030 Reverb unit tothe 340 for the "cathedral effect" among the other 99 it offers. (Even though its a theatre organ, I LOVE turning off the trems!) Well, here's the deal... I'm having difficulty with distortion of the sound when the Roland unit is hooked up to the 340. Here's the setup. The 340 has the practice panel which controls the reverb. I've correctly put the connectionsinto the circuit box of the practice panel and the Roland unit. I do get very good reverb when I the swell pedals are completely shut. Anytime I open the swells however, I get a more and more distortion as the volume increases. One thing I've noticed is that when I use the Roland unit, the general volume of the entire organ goes way up, as if it's being amplified which is what I'm guessing is the simple cause of the distortion....but....when I turn down the power from the Roland unit to lessen the distortion, it also takes away from the reverb...kind of a viciouscircle of sorts. When I turn the practice panel knob know full clockwise, I get a very slight hiss but nice reverb, but also the distortion and volume increase. I know this is a bit complicated and if anyone cares to attack this problem, please ask away if I've confused the issue. Thanks so much for your guidance on this one.
