In my church, the congregations' age is very well mixed.  However, I usually 
do get the best response from the "older" folks saying, "blow the dust out of 
those pipes!, and urge me on.  I do try to play a varied degree in volume all 
the time.....hehehehhehehhehe.
Remember.....the most simple thing can be the most rewarding!
