The larger the blower and the faster it runs the more
it will raise the temperature of the air going through
it. Thus, controlling temperature at the intake turns
out to have limited usefulness for tuning problems in
instruments of any size.

Humidifying blower air, particularly in a dry climate
or wherever winter heating dries the air even further,
will have beneficial effects on wooden trunks, chests
and pipework (helping to avoid splitting and cracking
caused by wood drying out), though it does little for
tuning.
