for those interested in playing the organ I mentioned, the one with the
zimberstern.......
I was visiting the Callaway Gardens, in Pine Mountain, Georgia a few years ago,
and close to the gardens in the First United Methodist Church, and it houses a
3-manual Rodgers 940. The zimberstern sits atop the console, with a wire
running from it to the back of the console. The church is small enough that the
congregation can hear it when it's activated. Like I said, It has a wooden base
that's about 4 inches thick, is about 18" square, has 6 bells of different
sizes hanging from 6 hooks, arranged in a circle, while a spinning wand strikes
them, striking 2 at a time (on opposite sides), spinning very slowly. The
entire unit stands about a foot or so high.
