Often one has to be a good detective, as Keith suggests.  A 10' length of pvc
pipe tipped with a rubber cane tip is useful to lightly touch lights, window
panes and other things that can rattle.

A resourceful organ tech will carry weather-stripping to insert around doors
that rattle...much easier than trying to explain it all the the church
secretary and getting the properties committee to take care of it!

As all of us, northern and southern hemisphere, are going into different
seasons right now, this is the time these noises can occur.
