[rodgersorgan] Re: The Audio Out

Paul,
There are a couple of ways to do this. Realize that the Line Out is the same
two channel pair as feeds the headphones. However, when headphones are plugged
in, the organ goes to the "headphone map."
What I would recommend is that you created a new "map" (i.e., some combination
of Main Off and Antiphonal ON) for optimizing the line out parameters. Feed
the line output to the tape unit, then listen via the monitor out of the tape
deck.
Use this sound to tweak the audio levels and RSS parameters to optimize the
performance of the recorded music. Then do an audio save, and next time all
you have to do is activate the map and you are there.
Another way to tap an aux feed is to take it out of the DB-9 connector for the
external reverb and go to an equalizer before the tape deck. Do the same type
of "record map" and use the equalizer to further optimize the sound to tape.
Best regards,
Ed Wilson

A local church isn't able to get an organist quite often. They have a
small pipe organ (without MIDI), so the only thing that really can be
used is a recording. I have access to a laptop computer, so I could make
audio recordings of the most common hymns and liturgies on the Rodgers
807 that I frequently "stop in" to play (it's at a country church on my
way to school). My question is this: how will the audio quality be if I
take the audio from the "Audio Out" of the organ? Will it be the same
quality that the organ puts out? I know there won't be as many channels,
but it should be better than nothing.

Thanks!
