Carlo,

I searched in vain for a recording of this piece in the organ
repertoire; I had wondered if it were an "unknown" organ sonata
of Handel's.  It is not, as far as I can tell.

I'll check and see if there is an indication of where this came
from when I return.  Perhaps the volume has a note.  My best
guess is that it is a transcription of a piece for orchestra,
although it definitely has "organistic" features and "feels"
more keyboard than orchestral in the way it fits under the
hands.

One note (something I just have to get off my chest).  I had
originally recorded it with one registration in the Adagio
(that's how I play it).  I was asked to change it during the
recording so that there were multiple solo registrations
represented.  I had recorded everything into a PR-300 (and did
*not* edit afterwards, I promise!!) and stood over the organ
during the recording and changed registrations on the fly.

So, for those who love the fact that you get to hear many
different combinations, then, there you go . . . 

For those who think it sounds trite to change solo stops every
three phrases, that's NOT how you have to play it  (. . .
something you do when you are recording music primarily to
represent an instrument).

Still, I'm happy I got to do this project during my tenure with
Rodgers.  I *do* love listening to Dan's work since then; if you
haven't heard his CD's for new products, you're missing out.
