To my understanding you want to set the organ to send STOP changes and to
receive both stops and pistons messages by using S&P. If you set it to send
stops and pistons, when you playback on the PR300 you get a flicker of the
stops. That is because it sent 2 messages, i.e. the piston you pushed and the
stops that are lit, and so it is receiving both messages on the playback,
thus the flicker.
I notice the organs come set SEND=STOPS, RECEIVE=S&P
When you only send stop messages you can be sure even if you play your
sequence years later and the pistons have been changed, the same stops will
light up. Also all it needs to know is the stops that are to be used, not the
piston, since pistons change. Some other manufacturers send only piston
information so when you come back to play and the piston has a different
registration then when you sequenced, you get the latest registration which
may not be what you want. So when you start your sequence the first thing you
do is push a piston to light up the stops and send the STOPS system exclusive
MIDI message to the PR300.
Chime in anyone if I am not seeing this clearly.
