Hmm. I have a lot to learn, I see. Thanks! The Rodgers' digital organs are not limited to "talking" to the PR300S. May I suggest a sound module, sampler, sequencer with a lot more horsepower...like, for example, a Kurzweil? Sure, it will cost a few bucks, but the flexibility, expandability and quality of what can be done with it is absolutely amazing! I have a keyboard model (K2600XS) and the rack model (K2600R). I use the rack model to interface with digital organs and also as a sound module, etc. for my wife's Yamaha WX-5 wind controller (and you can do both, simultaneously). You can really do some awesome things if you let your mind go wild. My point is, the PR300S is great for what it is...an entry level sound module, sequencer. It sounds to me like what you want to do really calls for some hardware with more muscle. Hope this helps, Bob Leety Monroe, CT -----Original Message----- From: rodgersorgan-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rodgersorgan-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Paul Marshall Sent: Wednesday, November 13, 2002 11:42 AM To: rodgersorgan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [rodgersorgan] SOL Having now lived with the PR300S and Rodgers Sound Organ Library, I make bold to offer a few thoughts for group members' feedback. Except the fact that I am still waiting to receive the 7th disc, the SOL is a great tool. Its limitation is that except for the "sets" disc, only one sound can be chosen at a time, for all divisions. Thus comes suggestion #1. I would pay the bucks for a computer program that allowed the user to combine the SOL voices in the making of his/her own sets, where two sounds are available to each division, independently. Suggestion #2 is related. Perhaps the SOL could be expanded with optional discs. For example, who would not want a disc of E M Skinner reeds? Or a set of Theatre sounds (such as Pawl Swank sells packaged into a Roland module that works very well with my Rodgers)? Like the "sets" disc, he provides both single voices and ensembles. Wouldn't it be fun to play the four-manual Cavaille-Coll in Buenos Aires even though most of us will probably never see it? If the market is too small for Rodgers, is this the kind of thing for a new business, or something that would interest Frog Music? I would appreciate your thoughts.
