well, we've done that mass setting before, and I used foundations 8 & 4 (16 & 8 
in the pedal), and had strings play the obbligato parts. Whenever there are no 
strings present, when using any old mass settings by the classic composers, I 
always use the same registration, and the crescendo pedal when need be.
