Noel,
I believe the answer is a double edged sword. I believe the answer to the
first part is yes, but the default velocity will be 64. But the note in
question is playing at a velocity of 127... most likely due to a speck of dust
under the "first to make" contact. If it is possible to change to constant
velocity parameter up to 127, then all notes would play at the same velocity.
This information should be in the owner's manual. But then there would likely
be a very harsh edge on everything.
Regards,
Ed

A church just called, they have an HP 1300 Roland that has one key that
has begun to play only at full voume...until they get this repaired, can
the piano easily be set to a fixed velocity for a quick fix?
Sorry about the off-topic, but I don't have access to the HP series
manuals.
