[rodgersorgan] Re: Quality of Consoles

Hi,

Digital Nerve Pulses"

The nerve impulses are somewhat digital, but not fully. All powered by a =
chemical reaction using sodium and calcium ions. The basilar membrane is =
frequency dependent based on location: different frequencies excite =
different locations. Very interesting how we hear!

Think of the huge amount of information entailed in music:

0 to 120 dB is a dynamic range of one million to one

20 to 20,000 Hz is a frequency range that's a range of ten thousand to one

and we can formants, noise, and timing simultaneously and organize it to =
hear music.

What an amazing thing!

Re: delaminating console

As far as the console, the dealer said it was under warranty and we'd see =
if it continued. I don't think he wanted to pay for the labor to transplant=
the guts into the new console. He carried the warranty over to the person =
I sold it to, and I hope it either stabilized or the dealer finally fixed =
it. I moved out of the area, which is why I sold the instrument, and lost =
touch with the new owner.

The dealer has since sold his business, so I don't feel a need to warn =
people about him.

I'll tell you though, if the new Rodgers sound anything like my C-180, =
they must be wonderful to play.

Charlie
