[rodgersorgan] Pipe/Digital

Our church had a 1930 12 rank Hinners organ. While it was a pretty organ, it
was inadequate. After MUCH study, we "married" it to A Rodgers 835. It is
truly amazing!
Prior to the installation, I talked to Dr. Joyce Jones at Baylor in Texas. She
assured me it would work. She was right.
The digital matches the pipe perfectly. An example: The Hinners great has a
8' Melodia, and 4' Flute d'Amoure. There was no 2' flute. I can now add the
2' flute into the chorus and it is a perfect match. Add the IV Mixture and it's
mind-blowing! The same for the principal chorus. I had a real 8' and 4'
diapasons, but no 2' or Mixture. The organ is now as bright as can be and you
CANNOT tell the digital from the real!
As for tuning, when I first turn the organ on, I turn on the great 8'
Principal with the real and the digital to tune them together. It takes about
5 seconds!
I now have Principals and Reeds in the Pedal too. They shake the room just
like the real pipes. It is truly amazing.
Things have changed SO MUCH since the 70's and 80's.
Not to mention, my organ is now MIDI!
