Welcome.  Although I am certainly not a PR300 guru, I think it was the input 
buffer that filled.  There is a specific OUT OF MEMORY error that I would 
think you would have encountered if it had, in fact, been the memory that was 
full.  I cannot speak to whether there is a separate input buffer, but there 
are 
several Rodgers folks on the list and perhaps they can find out from the 
factory.  
Maybe I am paranoid but when I am recording, as soon as I get a track I am 
happy with (and sometimes before) I save it!  The power seems to be notoriously 
unreliable here in the new house and I like to make sure that I keep what I've 
worked so hard to get.
