[rodgersorgan] Re: New List Menber

Hi Grant,

Welcome to the club. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. There's a lot of good
info. available at your finger tips.

I'm 64 years old and only have been playing an organ for the past six years. I
started with a small Wurlitzer church organ and have worked my way up to what I
play now, which is a Rodgers 321. I play mostly for myself and family and don't
profess to be a full fledged organist (yet) but I'm working on it. I'm a former
accordianist and the transition from accordian to organ is quite a leap (for
anyone). It's difficult for me to play accomp. My left hand just doesn't seem
to want to work (ha, ha) and coupled with the fact I've had stroke which
effected my left arm and leg (of all things) makes it even more difficult for
me to play but I'm dumb, I DON'T KNOW WHEN TO QUIT! I just keep pluggin' away.

Good to talking with you Grant and write if you like. I'm at home 24/7 and
usually here or at my organ and will respond as soon as I can.

Rules say I have to introduce myself to the list .. soooo ... Howdy.

I've been playing and studying (sporadically) since I was an early
teenager. Seriously planned to be a music/organ major at one point, but
ended up an electrical engineer. I have been engaged by a couple of
churches in the past as organist, but that was quite a long time ago. For
the last 30 years I've been strictly in the amateur category,
entertaining no one in particular but myself. I have come out of hiding
to play a couple of weddings and some other special services as a guest
organist, and also played lunch-hour concerts at a large downtown Chicago
church while studying with the organist there some years ago.

Currently I have a new (old) Rodgers 750BE at home, in the process of
installation. I've had several other analog Rodgers' instruments at one
time or another.

Professionally, I'm the CTO of a telecom/technology consulting company.
Other avocations include ham radio, and collection and restoration of
vintage radio equipment.
