[rodgersorgan] Re: James Pressler and Bach By Immersion

...let me throw in my 2 cents worth, as the guy who got James started on
using the Rodgers....

I had already been doing something similar to Jim using the software-based
Gigasampler and samples provided by Michiel Post. When I found out that
we would be able to interface our Schantz with the Rodgers console, I was
excited
about the possibilities of such an arrangement.

Working with James for the better part of nearly a year I found him not only
a consummate
musician, but also a true friend - we still correspond on a regular basis
and share our ideas.
Much of what I do when creating a MIDI performance is influenced by ideas he
shared and from
seeing/analyzing the interpretations he sent to me. I am glad that I have
had the opportunity
to work with him, and very happy that I could help give his musical
knowledge a "voice"
once again. Because I have heard and closely examined the better part of
the major Bach works
as he interpreted them, I can assure you that you would not be disappointed
if you were to give
this Bach By Immersion a try - he has paid close attention to the detailsn
and it shows.

As for my own stuff, you can feel free to ask if you'd like a MIDI file or
2, and I have recorded
many of my creations and made them available on CD and (some) as mp3 files

All best wishes,

Jonathan Orwig
