[rodgersorgan] It's the Principal of the Thing...

The Geigen Principal, found on the Swell of many Rodgers Instruments, is
a very musical stop, sharing characteristics of the rich, round
Principal with a string-like timbre....hence the translation of the name
from German, Violin Principal. All too often we use the 8' stops as
foundation, often ignoring them as solo stops or stops that might be
used alone to introduce a line or verse of a hymn.

The Geigen Diapason as built by Rodgers is very effective...in fact, in
some passages of music it rings so clearly that we can understand the
violin in the name.
