[rodgersorgan] Re: Getting around

I'm with you on this one, Tim. It's easy to get spoiled with the nice
instrument I have to play. Getting out to other facilities give me the chance
to either see how good I have it, or how much I need to make my music flexible
because other instruments are fantastic or inadequate.

I remember playing for a wedding at a local Congregation church that was built
in the 40's. The organ was split into two chambers, not well placed for
accoutics, and the chambers spoke to each other rather than into the nave. On
the recessional, I had to pull every cotton-pickin' stop to even remotely
resemble a full sound. It was pathetic!

It's also nice having a decent instrument, because other churches call me to
ask what I play. Their organ committee is looking for advice and
recommendations, and I can invite them over to play and hear.
