This is VERY interesting. I have had a similar situation, in that I record
the accomp. for our choir anthems in the PR-300S (which by the way, is
hooked up to an i-557) using just the PR sounds over 2,3 or4 tracks. During
early Sunday AM rehersals, everything is working just fine. Then comes the
service, where I play a combination of straight organ and organ/PR sounds,
then comes the anthem, and at the point of the anthem, the volume of the
anthem accomp is greatly lowered. I too have found that I need to shut off
the PR during the readings before the anthem to reset everything, then the
anthem comes out fine.
I just had another mess, that I seem now to have cleared up, where I go to
record a multi-track sequence, and I "dial-up" a sound using the "Q-dial" on
the organ, then play the track into the PR. Let's say I was recording a
Piano line. I would Dial up Channel 1 Program 1 on the organ, and record the
track. Then stop the recording, hit reset to the beginning of the sequence,
and hit play. Somehow, my sequence played perfectly, but was sounding like
an Oboe or something. Then I would stop the sequencer, and play the great
manual, and it sounded with the same instrument, the Oboe or what have you,
but the program is still set to #1 which is Piano. A quick one "tick"
forward of the q-dial to change to program 2 and then back to 1 again would
reset the sound to Piano on the keyboard, but if I hit play again on the
sequencer, it would change the sound. I did the reset function that the
factory told me to use, and it seems for now to have worked, though no one
seems to know why this happened. I have had the software update done to the
I-557.
