I have played a couple of recitals on 837s, and I regularly play a 957 in a
chapel and a 927 at my church. I have run into this on all of these
instruments when playing the organ along with orchestral sequences such as
Hector's hymn paraphrases. The expression shoe should NOT affect the volume
of PR-300 voices under normal circumstances. However, I found that if I had
engaged the Gt. MIDI A piston to play PR-300 voices in real time and then
tried to play the organ with an orchestral sequence, the PR-300 voices in the
sequence would then be controlled by the expression shoe. I found myself
powering down the organ and PR-300, and then powering back up again. This
would "re-set" everything and then I could play the pieces with orchestral
sequences so that only the organ and not the PR-300 would be affected by the
expression shoe.
In discussing this with Dan Miller, I learned that this is a software issue
and there is a fix. I have had the upgrade done to my 957 and it has worked
perfectly since. I will have my dealer do the same to my 927. The upgrade
is available through your local Rodgers dealer.
Hope this helps.
