[rodgersorgan] Deducting an organ...

I once assisted in a sale in which the organ was purchased and placed in
an irrevocable trust for a church, but the wife of the donor specified
that she could use the organ in their home until her passing or until
she no longer wanted it, and then it would go to the church.

The gentleman had a fine accountant who set it up very nicely and
reviewed it all with his attorney.

There are issues of immediate credit for the contribution to the
church...and so on.
