Before I order anything, let me just make sure of a couple of things. My goal
is
a Rodgers 967 with a PR-300S but for now I have a 25-year-old Allen 603-D. It
has no MIDI. If I buy some of your books in the Organ & MIDI Orchestra series,
can I play the downloaded files on my Mac Powerbook using Finale or Sibelius
under OS X 10.2 into my Roland Sound Canvas?
Thanks.
Doug
Doug,
Yes. It is even possible to take the midi files, play them capturing the sound
in an audio program and burning an audio CD for use in churches that do not
have
midi but have sound system (PA). You can use an inexpensive CD player for that
purpose.
For the MAC (my own computer of choice since my first Apple ][e ) I would
download the free/shareware program MIDIGRAPHY (find on our site using SEARCH
on
the title page) or from the www.rolandus.com site under support. This is a MIDI
sequencer/player/recorder that works very simply. The Microsoft Media Player
for
the MAC should work as well.
Finale may interpret teh files on the way...may work fine, may need some
work....Silbelius may do a more accurate job.
For PC owners, inexpensive versions of Calewalk Home Studio (found mine for
$19.95 on sale for $9) work just fine. Windows Media Player works too.
Using the Sound Canvas will give you great sound, all voices we use are int he
SC set.
