Our choir uses both of the songs mentioned below. We are using Carol of the
Kings in our musical this weekend with a live orchestra. Usually we sing
this one to trax. We've also sang the Jesu, Came Upon a Midnight Clear. Both
are wonderfull arrangements. I must recommend Ron Huff's arrangement of All
is Well. All I can say is wow.

>Hi, gang --- it's pretty deep into the season to be recommending
>Christmas music, but things have been busy around here (imagine that - a
>musician busy at this time of year!).
>
>Here are a couple of numbers that you and your choir will enjoy NEXT
>year:
>
>Jesu, Came Upon the Midnight Clear (PraiseGathering # A08212). This is
>a setting of "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear" with a nice adaptation of
>"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" as the accompaniment. A fun piece to
>register. I'm doing one movement with Choir celestes and flutes at 8'
>plus PR300 strings at 4' undergirded by PR300 strings at 16' in the
>Pedal. The description sounds strange, but those synth strings really
>sing when you pitch them up an octave.
>
>Carol of the Kings (PraiseGathering # A08240). Another marriage of the
>familiar and the unexpected. This one adapts Leontovich's "Carol of the
>Bells" as the musical theme, with "We Three Kings" for the familiar text
>PLUS a new set of words that fit Leontovich's rhythm and grow on the
>choir and congregation ("Kings from afar, follow the star, throughout
>the night, led by the Light..... On this glad morn, Jesus is born, Joy
>to the earth, welcome His birth.... "). Fun to play and fun to sing.
>
>Just to keep one foot firmly anchored to tradition, we've pulled out
>Hopson's Antiphonal Carol. And the congregation is wild about the
>MIDI/organ arrangements from An Angelic Christmas.
>
>A Blessed Christmas to all -
>B.E.
