For those who missed the RSS discussion earlier this year, RSS is a
device that creates an acoustical environment, originally developed it
appears by Roland for use with outside symphony performances.
It actually constructs a room based upon criteria you set....size,
nature of the walls, degree to which the room is activated with sound.
I was at a church in Tullahoma, TN with an 837 (II Manual Trillium)
organ with RSS in each corner of the room.
I played it shortly after playing a 15 rk 1977 Casavant in a very nice
acoustic, slate and wood floors, brick walls, nice spacious room.
However, the organ was a bit bright for the room....RSS would have taken
the edge off and permitted that bright sound to work without requiring
revoicing of the pipework. I noticed the organist failed to include the
IV mixture on any of the pistons.
But playing the 837 was fun!
