[relug] Problema con apt-get

Ciao,
stamattina apt mi fa un brutto tiro quando chiedo l'udpate.
Quando finisce di interrogare le varie source, mi dice:

Reading Package Lists... Error!
E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room
E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room
E: Error occured while processing kdebugdialog (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

Tra le altre cose, apt-cache segmenta chiedendogli qualsiasi cosa.

La mia versione di apt è la 0.5.4, dpkg è 1.10.9, kernel 2.4.20, libc6
2.3.1-15.

Avete idea di cosa possa essere?
