I know Sonar didn't run on XP after I upgraded from Windows 98. The latest version of Sonar was released before Windows 7. I do pray it works for you, though. I am sorry you couldn't find XP drivers for the laptop. This was one of our concerns with you buying it.

Ramy,

The answer is maybe.

Some older vst manufacturers probably won't update their products, or they will and make you buy the new versions, and some things might work in compatibility modes, but it's been my experience that most things that require low level access like our musical apps will tend to break with an os upgrade.

Xp was very forgiving to 98 and me apps, but still, many things got orphaned, and it's already been shown how many things vista orphaned, that was part of the big stink about why people hated vista so much.

Window's 7 is more or less a bug squashed vista that runs better.

So you just have to try it and see.

Chances are that the 32 bit versions of either vista or w7 will run older apps better than the 64 bit version, but again, it's a trial and error situation, you'l just have to give it a shot and see.

Good luck.

Turn right, then go straight!

        Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Amplified Bible)

11For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

12Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.

13Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.(A)

14I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.
