LOL Tom, it looks like we have some similarities! At the age of 15, my
brother got drunk, he passed by our house at around like 5 in the morning
and I was up. Then it got into his head that he wanted to see me drive on
the street. This is the same guy who tought me how to drive stick shift in
our back yard, and who had no problem let me back his car or truck out of
the driveway. So he sat on the passenger side, and gave me instructions on
how to drive to his friends house, pick him up, and then drive down to an
abandoned steelyard we had here and drive around at moderate speeds lol!
Then on our way back home, me still driving, he could no longer give me
directions because he was to bz calling his wife on the cell phone and
crying out of joy and excitement because I was finally driving..His other
friend in the back was in no better shape, which left me with the risk of
just using my mental mapping skills and going streight down the street
lol... Looking back at it, yea it was very risky, however at the moment, I
was loving it! That's one thing I can say about my family, they never
treated me any differently than my brothers or cousins or any other kid, I
had the same privallages and responsibilities as any normal kid did... It
was cool, when I was 5, my uncle bought all of us bikes, and though my
gramma hesitated at first, he tought me along with my cousins how to ride,
and soon after that we were all taking bike trips all over puerto rico
lol... But even before then I had rode a horse on various occasions in my
dad's farm in the dominican republic, gone canoeing, attempted
skateboarding, and that was just the beginning of it...Not having the video games and computers widely available and affordable at the time we were very
much outdoor kids...
It's funny cuz I tell people these stories and they make a deal of it as if being blind was from another world... As long as we have the right tools and
self motivation/courage at our disposition though, I believe we can
accomplish anything, be it with some limitations, and of course within
certain limits... Other than parking cars and moving relatives cars in
parkings/driveways, I haven't driven on the street again, though my brother
is already planning another escapade when he gets back from iraq lol... I
say as long as you don't baby yourself or let people baby you, we can
concquer the world! lol

Go for it! You'll love it. Probably almost as much as the tricycle trip.
grin.

Wow Tom, ever since I rode the melleneum force and the dragstor I've been
planning a sky diving trip with a friend of mine who's dad has done it
b4...
I'm sure it'll be fun, the risk part I'm not worried about, taking risks
is
something I've been doing since early childhood... Not shortly after I
went
blind at the age of 3, I was riding my tricycle around, and decided that
I'd
take a trip down a hill... Well, that hill was very inclined, I was going
at a good high speed, and then went down a 10 foot drop... The feeling as
my
parents tell me I told them was great... the pain, well not so lol...
Lucky
for me it was nothing but grass on the bottom... So after getting back
from
the hospital, well I went and did it again! Except this time I stopped b4
the hill lol!

Here's hoping for a sky diving trip, D!J!X!

That's so true, Steph. I went sky-diving several years ago and it took all
but begging, pleading, and putting a gun to the guys head to let me go.
But
of course these kind of folks obviously like taking risks. So I was
finally
able to talk him in to it. What a rush!

Sometimes it is better not to be able to see! We have to take our lives

drivers do, I don't think we would have the courage. I am glad the
roads

we will be biking on will be blocked off!

Last time I was on a horse was back in 93, I was half of a duo and we
played in Daton.

I'd just gotten where I could sequence good with spg for dos, and we
carted my first computer, a whapping 386 with 2 megs of ram, 40 meg
hard-drive and all our extra modules and things on the road.

computer broke the first night we were there, actually, it was fine,
but

the silly speech synth which was an accent pc was rusty, and kroded,
must have been dropped in water or something, and it froze the system.

Anyway, we got the computer repaired and everything was fine for the
rest of the 3 week gig.

One of the waitresses there invited me horse-back riding, so I went.

One thing hilarious about horses is that they just poop anywhere they
like, on the move too.

Here we are clop clopping down the street and I hear this big splat
behind me.

She was a gentle placid mare and Laury and I rode her all afternoon.

My hind end was definitely sore.

YOU need to develop special muscles to be on a horse all the time.

Buzz my partner chickened out, he was a big wenie about some things,
very talented, but he said he didn't want to get on anything big enough
to crush him.

Well, I'd feel less threaten by a horse than a non-attention paying
motorist trying to dial a cell phone, put on makeup, and or otherwise
occupied rather than watching out for my hide trying to cross the
street

'grin'.

The seat of knowledge would sure get a work-out riding a horse,
though!

ride, let me know that, too. I am not sure I will do it, but if I
get enough interest, I just might. I will be riding a tandem with
a

feisty little lady who has rheumatoid arthritis. If she can do it, I know I can! But... I will need your prayers and support. I have
never done anything like this in my life!

Chris and Steph, have you guys got my songs for my CD on your
server? Should we let the group listen to one or two of them?
Whichever ones you like will be fine. Could you give a download
link for your favorites? If any of you want a copy, they are
$10.00

plus $3.00 for shipping and handling. Sorry for the shameless
advertisement, but we gotta make money, somehow. By the way, Chris
did a wonderful job mastering the CD. It is called, You Light The
Way.

Well, Steph... you did ask what we were up to! (Grin.)

Just wondering what people are up to musically?
Life is busy in the Belle household right now. We are currently
working on a Christmas album and tomorrow we have a group coming
to

talk about putting an album together. It's great to see work
starting to come in and we haven't advertised yet. My job is to
keep meals coming and ocasionally help with backing vocals etc.
Always interested to hear what others are doing.
