Why do you want pencil mics instead of large diaphram mics, or even a quality dynamic mic?

Small condensers have their uses, but they tend to be very sensitive to handling and wind noise, I like them mainly as drum over-heads or maybe choir mics.

And, I wouldn't go real cheap, you may not like the sound,
if you go really cheap, make sure you can return the mic if you don't like the sound.

I went with shure sm81s for my over-heads, they weren't cheap, but I'm glad I went that route instead of the budget mics, you don't need the most expensive ones,
but quality will tell in your recordings.
