Well for now you can avoid it, but you'll have no choice in the future... You can currently run it on a 64bit system, however you won't get the best results with it... The real nut cruncher is letting all the plug-ins catch up, especially third party ones, many of our favs just won't work in 64 bit. Especially the dxi ones.
