Well, let me go through them all one by one
Each line related to the midi configuration is in the form of:
<VALUE name="midi_trigger_name" val="midi_event"/>
where "midi_trigger_name" is the "thing" you are going to control when the
specific "midi_event" is received.
A list of all the "midi_trigger_name" will follow.
the "midi_event" part depends on what is the MIDI message that you want to use
as a trigger.
For Note messages, use "note;20,expr", replacing 20 with the number of the MIDI
Note that you want to use as a trigger;
For CC messages, use "cc;20,expr". Again, replace the 20 with the actual number
of the Control Change that you want to use as a trigger.
For Program Change messaeges, use "prog;20,expr", again replacing 20 with the
actual program change number that you want to use as a trigger;
As you may have noticed, all of the formats have an "expr" keyword that for the
moment should be left untouched.
Also, please remember that Program Changes will NOT be available as triggers
for MIDI event only if the preference with name "midiDirectVariationRecall" is
set to "1".
In that case, when a Program Change is received, it is used to directly recall
a sound and a variation in the current bank. The rule for what sound and
variation will be recalled is as follows:
Program Change 0 => sound 0, first variation
Program Change 1 => sound 0, second variation
....
Program Change 10 => sound 1, first variation
Program Change 11 => sound 1, second variation
....
Program Change 127 => sound 12, last (eight) variation
The available "midi_trigger_name" values are:
a.. To control the 8 smart controls:
a.. midiTrigger_Smart0
b.. midiTrigger_Smart1
c.. midiTrigger_Smart2
d.. midiTrigger_Smart3
e.. midiTrigger_Smart4
f.. midiTrigger_Smart5
g.. midiTrigger_Smart6
h.. midiTrigger_Smart7
b.. To control specific parameters in the chain (if present)
a.. midiTrigger_Volume (to control the first Volume pedal found in the
chain)
b.. midiTrigger_Wah (to control the first Wah pedal found in the chain)
c.. midiTrigger_Tap (to tap the internal tempo of the plug-in)
d.. midiTrigger_Tuner (to turn on/off the tuner)
e.. midiTrigger_Mute (to mute/unmute the output)
f.. midiTrigger_OutputVolume (to adjust the output volume)
c.. To navigate the preset library (these are used to move to the
previous/next bank/sound/variation):
a.. midiTrigger_BankUp
b.. midiTrigger_BankDown
c.. midiTrigger_SoundUp
d.. midiTrigger_SoundDown
e.. midiTrigger_VariationUp
f.. midiTrigger_VariationDown
d.. To directly recall a specific variation of the current sound:
a.. midiTrigger_VariationRecall0
b.. midiTrigger_VariationRecall1
c.. midiTrigger_VariationRecall2
d.. midiTrigger_VariationRecall3
e.. midiTrigger_VariationRecall4
f.. midiTrigger_VariationRecall5
g.. midiTrigger_VariationRecall6
h.. midiTrigger_VariationRecall7
This is the mapping used in TH2. The one used in TH1 Triode is different and
frankly quite more complicated than that. I think it's best if you get familiar
with the one in TH2 and then, if you think it will be useful for you in TH1
Triode as well, you'll write me back for further details.

hi Federico
yes , that's the only way for me to be able to at least access the available
presets and make some significant use of the plugs; (and make a purchase
<smile>).
so , how exactly do I modify the list to match bank and program changes?
there is a "none" in every line; and a "20 expr" or something similar.
I guess they should be replaced with program/bank numbers and preset names.
any help would be highly appreciated
all the very best
Roy.

Hi Roy,
well, the configuration for those settings is stored in a file named
"properties.xml" in the TH1 Triode application data folder and
"preferences2.xml" in the TH" application data folder.
In both cases, it is a well-formed text file in XML format, but it isn't
designed to be "human readable". Will it do for you anyway?

hello all
is it possible to configure midi program/bank messages and midi CC
assignments in Triod/th2 via a text file/registry setting?
this way I'll be able to access presets using my screen reader ,
bypassing the inaccessible native ui.
thanks a lot for any help
