Hey Folks!
I hope I find you all well?
Also hoping to avail myself of your collective wisdom.
Subject line basically says it all. My modem gets hung up.
Sticks. I can't really tell if it's dialing or not. Kind of
deaf but instead of connecting it makes this high pitched
Eeeeeeeeeeee sound! Then eventually disconnects if I don't hit
the cancel button. Would anyone have any ideas about what is
causing this and what I might do to correct the problem?? Is it
software or hardware in nature and how do I determine such?? I'm
running windows XP s p 3 and jaws 11. Will of course gladly
provide further info, but not sure what you guys might need to
know. I mean it was working fine one night got up next morning
tried to log on and that's what I got. It is generating an error
report it wants to send to microsoft. I did get some eyes and
she said everying LOOKED fine for whatever that's worth. Is
there some sort of go back feature in windows that is accessible
in braille which will allow me to revert to the way things were
say couple a weeks ago when the adjectival thang actually worked?
This is a dial up modem. Live to far out in the sticks to have
any sort of high speed internet which requires fiber optic phone
lines. Nah I don't really live THAT FROM far out of town just
seems to be a dead spot here some reason. We seeing what we
can't do about that but in the mean time this is what we have.
Thanks a lot for any help.
All The Best
