That would be fine. -----Original Message----- From: real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Nancy Van Sandt Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 6:48 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] Re: Trouble reading a .PDF file. Thanks, I appreciate that. There are 2 files, one is pretty large, 108 pages to be exact. I'm not going to mess with it right now, as I'm working, and I came in here to see what was happening and to see if anyone had any ideas. If it is okay with you, I may contact you off list and ask a couple of questions so that I don't clutter things up here. OmniPage will do this, but of course you are subject to the usual warnings about OCR text: depends on how clear the images are, font used (more properly "typeface") etc. If it isn't government secrets or the like, I could give it a shot if you like. -----Original Message----- From: real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Reginald George Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 3:54 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] Re: Trouble reading a .PDF file. does Jaws say blank? Or empty document? If it truly is am image file you may be sunk without Openbook or Kurzweil. I heard that there is some way to configure the Microsoft Image Writer printer in Office to try to open things up in Word, but I don't know how, and I don't think it does a very good job. There are programs like Omni page or PDF complete that don't cost too much and can run OCR through a virtual printer. Maybe someone else with more knowledge can wade in on this one. -----Original Message----- From: Nancy Van Sandt Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 2:29 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] Trouble reading a .PDF file. I downloaded a 108-page .PDF file. when I tried to access it, it was blank, which tells me that it is an image. The text is visible to a sighted person; but of course, JAWS just says "blank." Does anyone have any ideas about how I can read this? I have Adobe Acrobat. I have Text Cloner Pro on a PC with Windows XP and JAWS 12. I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks!
