Is this version for Vista only and aren't they still in beta Jim?

Ben,
I was having a similar experience where in certain situations, loss of
speech would occur for no apparent reason. One time though, I was able to
get narrator going and read a message that there had been an error caused by
the flash player.
So, I then discovered that in Accessories, System Tools, there is amenu
choice called Internet Explorer, no add ons.
This lets you run the browser without flash, without Active X, and so on,
most certainly disabling the functionality of many web pages, but also
helping to isolate the causes of errors.
I never experienced any error messages while running the browser with no add
ons, so I thought that it was perhaps time to reinstall the flash player.
The latest version can be downloaded from

This of course is just a guess, but it's one place to start.

You might try running Internet explorer with no add ons to determine whether
or not you can get the system to crash.

A good Sunday morning,

Since I have been using my new computer I have had one recurring problem. I
have Vista as an operating system with 2 gigs of ram. I am now using a
router but this occurred before the router was connected. I can be in
Internet Explorer, or doing rss feeds or just about anywhere and all of a
sudden I will lose speech. I can't invoke narrator by doing the windows key
plus u, or doing the windows key and pressing r, then typing narrator.
About the only thing I can do is shut down and reboot. I need to call on
all the collective great minds out there. There is a solution I know, but
what is it? Thanks and have a good Sunday.
