I do have a windows Machine, but it is super slow.
the IDE I currently have is Eclipse, but again going to run the code and to go
back into correct it just doesn’t work out.
Someone did suggest a compiler. Does anyone have a suggestion for a VoiceOver
accessible compiler?

while we are speaking of terminal and the Mac, can anyone point me to a
resource of how to use voice over in the terminal. I find I can't read
everything there. I have taken to using a pi or other Linux machine to SSH
into the Mac. this does turn the paradigm upside down😀

I find the Mac interface slow and awkward. The speech is slow. When
there is a sound icon, Voiceover pauses speech to play the icon, as
opposed to NVDA which will play my line indent sonification *while* it
is speaking. Sometimes I have to wait at least 200ms for a response
when I press a key. I'm moving away from MacOS because it seems
designed to slow me down. Does anyone else think so?
All that said, I also use TextEdit and terminal. I won't touch XCode.

I second just using your text editor of choice with a stand alone
compiler/interpreter for whichever language you're using. Even when I
counted myself among the sighted, I generally found IDEs got in the
way more than they helped.
