Which pi is it? 2 or 3?
Ask since, like mentioned on list, with the pi 2, I had to first boot up
with external USB audio plugged in, but, no HDMI, to get it to sort of
default to using the USB audio for output, and, then on second boot-up,
had the HDMI plugged in, so a sighted connection could run through
initial configuration wizard.
But, this was on the pi 2, with lower hardware performance levels, so
not sure how it will react on the pi 3, and, if I remember correctly,
when first tried it with HDMI plugged in on first boot-up, then we were
shown a form of rainbow coloured version of the windows blue screen of
death, or something - so, I cleaned up SDCard, and, started from
scratch, using the twice-boot-process to force it to work with the
external audio adapter for audio, since seems like it was just
overloading the pi 2 if I allowed it to try use the HDMI for audio
output as well.
But, this was all a little while ago, but, can offer you a .7z instance
of the image that's already run through this part of the process, if you
want, but, like said, if you're working with a pi 3, it probably won't
work in any case.
Stay well

Hi all,
I had a few questions.
Right now i have Ubuntu Mate installed on my SD Card for the Pi.
The Case is on it with the fan plugged into the assumed correct GPIO
connection. Which I was told was 4 and 6.
I have an ethernet cable plugged in, and the HDMI cable going from the pi to
the TV. Tv is set on the correct TV channel for the connected plug.
plugging in power to the PI to get power. Nothing shows up.
Is there something i am doing wrong?
I plug in the Micro USB and I see a red light kick on. Again Nothing else
hapens.
Lastly What about the Audio? If I use HDMI will that work fine?
Thanks in advance.
