Greetings, Radio Explorer user!
Version 2.1 of Radio Explorer was released today, February 15, 2004.
Thanks to Tunç Aytı, Radio Explorer is now available in the Turkish interface
language.
You can use the new 2.1 version to browse through the Prime Time Shortwave
schedules, http://www.primetimeshortwave.com/ , a source of timely and
accurate information about shortwave broadcasting in English. For details on
Radio Explorer working with the Prime Time Shortwave schedules please refer to
the Input Data page of the Radio Explorer Web site at
http://www.radioexplorer.com.ru/data.html , or search the new version's online
help system for "Prime Time".
I would like to express my gratitude to Eike Bierwirth, Mark J. Fine, and
Daniel Sampson, who at different times kindly granted me permission to add
support for the schedules, that they compile, to Radio Explorer.
Another new feature in this version is the memory meter, allowing to monitor
memory usage in Radio Explorer. Also, the distribution archive now includes
launching scripts, which enable Radio Explorer to use more memory and
consequently open more schedules. Please refer to the online help system for
more information about the new memory-related features.
As a side note, the online help system of Radio Explorer now works much faster
due to HTML compression applied to the help topic files.
Support for the new XML-based format for broadcasting and programming
schedules, that was announced for the version 2.1 in the previous newsletter
message, is currently in progress of being implemented, and has been relayed
for release in a later version.
Your comments and suggestions for this and other features are always welcome!
Best Regards,
Dmitry Nefedov
Developer of Radio Explorer
