Another Jovian impact 100820

Hello Everybody,

Masayuki Tachikawa has reported a bright flash on Jupiter's surface, 100820
1822 UT.

The sighting was confirmed by another Japanese astronomer 500 miles away,
Aoki Kazuo.

Another flash was observed on 100603 by Anthony Wesley and Christopher Go in
Australia and the Philippines. This is a rate of about 4 per year.

It is possible that impacts are common but mostly go unobserved.

Regards,

Victor
