Hello.
There is a name of an IP address, which is just a place for some text
one can enter as a comment. It is not treated in any way, except that
it is shown in the "name" column, so one can put any arbitrary
meta-information there like "primary", "backup", "old", "new" and so
on. Most addresses often don't have names.
There are objects or assets, which often have names, but yet can go
without them.
There is an allocation, which means a relation between two existing
records: one for IP address and another for object/asset. This
naturally assumes rendering a hyperlink to object, when showing IP
address (on its own or inside a network), and vice versa. This must
always work. Allocations feature supplementary column, "interface",
which helps sorting things out, but isn't mandatory.
So things are designed so, that you don't normally have to enter the
same text twice: one time in the object name and another in the IP
address comment. If I understand your situation correctly, this isn't a
bug.
