If you are thinking of publishing the schema,
http://schemaspy.sourceforge.net/ does a fair job of generating static html pages and images that you can drop on about any web site.
And I'm still interested in knowing how to import and sanity-check items that are stored in other databases. Is there some minimal set of fields that can be used to insert an object and obtain the key for subsequent association of other data?
