[racktables-users] Proceedure for adding a new type of object

I'm a new racktables user contemplating using racktables for documenting a
network equipment manufacturers test lab.   While we test with routers and
network switches, we also use other equipment like traffic generators and
other specialized test tools.    Most test equipment comes in various models
and sizes based on the number of available slots similar to chassis based
network switches.   Is it possible using just the UI to add 'traffic
generator' similar to 'network switch' and maintain the ability to select
the model from a list of 'traffic generator models' in the same way a
network switch model is chosen from the list of 'network switch models'?
If this is documented someplace already, please point me to it.
