Hello.

After a review I can say, that the issue is completely odd and it seems
to have none of the causes I was previously suspecting. I don't
currently have an opportunity to reproduce exact configuration of the
failing system locally, but there are yet ways to get this resolved
in reasonable time:

1. Try runing the software on a freshly installed system, which is
known-good for this purpose (e.g. Fedora or openSUSE).
2. Setup a mean for me to access existing system, so I can log in and
debug.
Looks like there is an extra new line character in the beginning of the produced PNG image file :-?
