[python] Re: website

A quick method is to reduce the graphics on your site. First, reduce the
main picture sizes, and then reduce the sizes of the images when they're
clicked. Pages are very small, it's the graphics that are the real
bandwidth hogs. As for your site in general, I really like the simple
layout. It's clean, information is easy to get to, and there are no
confusing multiple windows with un-necessary graphics. Back in the late 80s
when I started building web sites, everyone wanted lots of graphics and
animated GIFs. AS most people were still using modems at 14.4 or less, the
pages were horrifically slow to load. Then, we switched to more simple and
elegant tables with minimal and minimized graphics and the situation
improved immensely. Now, with everyone and their dog(just about) connected
by some form of high speed, the "experts"(usually self proclaimed) are
convincing the un-informed that cluttering up websites with unnecessary
graphics and confusing and poorly designed frames, banners and multi-media
is the "way to go".

This is no slight on the new builder who offered to jazz up your site as his
is pretty easy to use too, but Jurgen's layout is simple, and a winner, IMO.
