[python] Re: riding attempts

Mr. Sparks:
I wouldn't worry about traction, as the falls, though frequent, are from a
small height. As others have indicated, the greatest risk is to the fingers and
especially the thumbs.

Regarding handlebars, I respectfully disagree with Mr. Mages. I struggled for a
week to learn to ride my python. After welding on handlebars, I learned in two
days. (My first successful ride was November 22, 2006.) My suspicion is that
Jurgen's experience on the Airbike provided him with a better starting point
than I had for learning the python. Of course there's no way to test that
hypothesis.

If you think handlebars are a sign of weakness, consider this: some people
suggested that I install training wheels! Handlebars are definitely a step up
from that.

I was shocked today when, after not riding for over a week due to work and
weather, I got on and rode much better than before. I guess I didn't really
think about what I was doing. I did notice that I relied less heavily on the
handlebars that I had before.

Don't worry, Mr Sparks.
