Hi Jürgen,
Thank You!
I haven't put enough grease in the rod ends from steering so they grip
lightly but enough to make problems, the steering becomes "lazy " and so
it is difficult to control the little steering corrections well.(the
reacting time is a little longer, enough that you become instable;
If i had to build my bike a second time i surely mount an a rear
suspension! But actually i'm without click pedals!
If i try to go faster than 30 -35 km/h on flat the bike suddenly
breakout left right, its very dangerous in traffic because you need the
hole street and if you haven't the right gear it's also a problem at
lower speeds.I think i need the next 500 km to correct this, i hope!
To ride near the 60 km/h limit depend on the quality of the road (last
day i drive downhill at 53 km/h on another hill where the street is not
so perfect and i had to brake down to 44-45 km/h because i dont feel safe.)
The road where i try this 59 km/h is perfect Macadam without any gravel
or stones and with wooden forest on each side: no sidewinds, it feels
like gliding ;very smooth, the bike is total stable.(at a speed of 33
km/h and more without pedaling the bike feels like driving on rails, and
flying :-) )
When i make this, i feel very safe!
*The incredible thing is the small air resistance there is no need to
action the pedals* (if i ride exactly there downhill with my MTB i had
to pedal like a fool to reach this speeds(55 -57 km/h max with 170 pulse !)
Jürgen, i'm always astonished of the number of Kilometers you had
driven, i dont think that i can reach this a day ...the max i can ride
actually in a day is 70 km and than i'm groggy.
But to drive a Python is funny!
Salut
Serge
Ps if English was like Python learning........

Hi Serge and congratulations for your progress,
http://dirkb.dnsalias.net/pythonserge.html
Too bad if such a beauty would not be ridden ...
Today i had some problems with the steering: the askubals are dry so
the bike is very instable: breakouts (very exhausting) .
Do you mean the rod end steering joints? How can they run dry and how
does this affect the stability?
Bumpy and wavy roads are a problem too without shock-absorbers,
sometimes i'm feeling like sitting on a rodeo-horse, braking is the
only solution.
You have lots of cobblestone pavement in Flanders. Rear suspension and
more experience could help a lot in this case.
Max speed in pedaling mode: about 35 km/h (pedaling at higher speeds:
impossible!)
Take your time Serge. High speeds on the flat also need experience.
What happens if you try to go faster?
Max speed reached today *59.5 Km/h* downhill.
Pretty amazing - How did it feel? It seems that I am the only one who
can not surpass the 55 kph downhill limit ;-) But as Dirk days: Don't
overdo it ...
Cheers and happy rides,
Jürgen (30000 python kilometers so far).
