I agree - I considered fabricating 2 triangular handheld supports with
skaterwheels, but ended up just wearing out a pair of gardening gloves.

I would doubt any profit of this bike stand as well.
I used two - rather short - wooden sticks (like skiing or nordic walking) to
avoid hurting my hands in the beginning. I worked quite well for me.
